You’re looking for quality accommodation. And a hassle-free renting experience with a landlord or letting agency who care. You don’t want to be just another number. At Ideal Rooms, we take your housing needs seriously. No detail is forgotten.

This includes location. We’re not dotted randomly around the country. You have a choice in the UK’s 2 largest cities, Birmingham and London, and Hertfordshire.

Birmingham

You may be surprised. But yes, Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK and therefore the 2nd biggest contributor to jobs and its economy.

Well positioned in the central Midlands with an:

  • an international airport - that’s quicker to get through than Heathrow,
  • a major hub for 4 motorways – M5, M6, M40, M42; the UK’s Spaghetti Junction,
  • a network of coaches – the National Express group are headquartered here and
  • good rail links around the country - under 90 minutes to London.

However, once you’ve discovered Birmingham you won’t be leaving much. So, you certainly won’t be hanging around Spaghetti Junction.

A Gem in the Midlands

I moved here in 2002, overnight to take a job at Cadbury’s. I was surprised at how helpful the locals were – helping me with my luggage, volunteering directions when I looked lost and how different it was from concrete jungle stereotype:

  1. A mix of architecture to rival other European cities,
  2. Neighbour hoods catering to all tastes (urban + residential),
  3. So many green spaces - 571 parks, more than any other European city ,
  4. Culture – museums, art galleries, its own Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet,
  5. A television community & industry – the BBC have 2 major hubs here and its Drama village.

A Young Hip Vibe

It’s a cool city too. World class shopping, restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas for all tastes and budgets:

  • Harvey Nichols and Selfridges are both here (the latter’s building is a visit in itself)
  • 4 Michelin starred restaurants outside of London (Simpson’s – Edgbaston, Turners – Harborne, Purnell’s and Adam’s in the city centre)
  • breweries – such as the Brewdog, serving its famed Scottish Ale

More Sport and Leisure

Football galore, local clubs and premier league. The canal system from the Industrial Revolution remains – covering more miles than Venice, it’s now an area for rest, relaxation and laughs. Birmingham has hosted the Ryder cup more than any other city in the UK and later this year it will welcome the Rugby World Cup.
